Would you mind reviewing this?

This file is an excerpt from a new PowerShell book I’m working on; this chapter covers PowerShell’s formatting capabilities and walks you through creating various types of custom format views. I’m looking for feedback, and I hope you’ll find some time to read this and let me know what you think.

Control Your PowerShell(s)!

FYI: If you’ve been seeking to gain some centralized control over PowerShell’s ExecutionPolicy, Microsoft has a downloadable ADM template that will allow you to control the shell via Group Policy. Updated Event Log Check

A few months ago, I wrote an entry about using Powershell to look at recent event logs. Since then, I’ve decided to make a minor improvement. The new function lets you specify the number of event logs to retrieve.

IsManageable

One issue that always seems to come up when using WMI to manage remote machines is being able to communicate with WMI on the remote machine. I love weather and living in central New York we get all kinds. So I decided I needed a thermometer on my desktop. Using PowerGadget’s Out-Gauge cmdlet this is pretty easy to do.
