Figuring out exactly what in the Windows Firewall needs to be opened in order for incoming WMI connections to work has always been a bit tricky. It seems appropriate, at this point in Windows PowerShell’s life, to really focus on the important things that we should remember every time we open the shell. These are the things that make PowerShell powerful, and the things that are too easily forgotten and overlooked – but which can really save a lot of time. With that – and tounge in cheek – here goes:
