PrimalXML is now available for beta testing as part of our 2009 lineup of new tools. PrimalXML is the must have tool for the user who needs to interact with XML but isn’t necessarily an expert XML developer. What is a Source Code Control System?
One of the tools SAPIEN will release in February 2009 is ChangeVue 2009, our very own Source Code Control System. Software developers are usually familiar with this type of application, but system and network administrator are not always aware of the benefits of this type of tool. In the following post I will attempt to […]

WMI Live
Similar to the enhanced SQL support, PrimalScript 2009 provides enhanced WMI and WQL support. WMI is an important tool in the administrators arsenal. It allows you to accomplish many tasks, local and remote with very little effort. However, the sheer number of WMI classes and their properties can be overwhelming and make it sometimes hard […]
SQL Live
PrimalScript 2009 sports a modified version of the Query results window you know from the 2007 version. Instead of just being able to run SQL queries from a SQL file you can just type queries in the provided combo-box: The combo-box of course is there to keep a history of your queries so you don’t […]
Shell me, Bash me
In the last blog posts you have already seen that PrimalScript 2009 will have an integrated PowerShell command window. With PowerShell storming the charts, command line environments experience a bit of a renaissance. From a script development perspective it makes perfect sense to have a prompt ready in order to try out a command. If […]

Before you can work with SQL, you should first create […]

Free upgrades: – If you bought PrimalScript 2007 (any edition) on or after November 1st 2008 you will get a free upgrade. This free upgrade […]
New Poll: Where do you buy books?
We’ve opened a new poll on the blog. I buy a lot of computer books, or at least try to get my hands on them any way I can. I’m curious about where you get your computer or technical books. Or maybe you don’t, which is reasonable given the state of today’s economy. But if […]
PowerShell In Production Poll – Closed
We’re going to close out the PowerShell in production poll. Thanks to all who responded. The margin narrowed a bit but still over 70% of you, or at least those who frequent the SAPIEN blog, are running PowerShell in a production environment. For organizations who aren’t I understand the reasons and believe that PowerShell v2 will bring more of you on board. Of course I hope you won’t wait, there’s no reason not to at least learning PowerShell. Sure, PowerShell v2.0 will offer lots of new bells and whistles, but you won’t have wasted any time learning PowerShell v1.0.
