I run a few Windows Server 2008 servers in VMWare for my test and demonstration environment. Honestly, I put them up very quickly not really knowing what I was doing, especially with Server Core. If I had the time, I would have looked at Greg Shield’s book Windows Server 2008: What’s New/What’s Changed. Like you I don’t have time to read an exhaustive door stop of a book (not that those titles don’t have value). What I needed was to learn about only the new Server 2008 features. I’ve been around long enough to know what a server is. All I needed was information on what was new in Server 2008 and what things changed from Server 2003.
