This service build is included as part of the regular update cycle for our subscribers.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Important: Please update to this build in order to resolve the unhandled exception issues introduced in the v5.5.148 build.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>New Features<\/h2>\n<p>This service release introduces a new line ending feature and updates the form file (<em>psf)<\/em> version.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>File Line Endings<\/h3>\n<p>You can now use PowerShell Studio\u2019s status bar to view line ending of the active file:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sapien.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Status-Bar-Line-Ending-1.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"Status Bar - Line Ending\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sapien.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Status-Bar-Line-Ending_thumb-1.png\" alt=\"Status Bar - Line Ending\" width=\"644\" height=\"345\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>To change the line ending, click on the line ending display in the status bar and select the desired settings from the pop-up menu:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sapien.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Status-Bar-Change-Line-Ending.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"Status Bar - Change Line Ending\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sapien.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Status-Bar-Change-Line-Ending_thumb.png\" alt=\"Status Bar - Change Line Ending\" width=\"644\" height=\"105\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>You can choose from the following options:<\/p>\n<table class=\"nicetable\" border=\"0\" width=\"618\" cellspacing=\"0\" cellpadding=\"2\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"77\"><strong>Option<\/strong><\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"258\"><strong>Description<\/strong><\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"281\"><strong>OS<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"77\">CR LF<\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"258\">Carriage Return New Line<\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"281\">Windows<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"77\">LF<\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"258\">New Line<\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"281\">Unix<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>With the <strong>LF<\/strong> option, you can configure PowerShell scripts for Unix based machines that use PowerShell Core (v6).<\/p>\n<p>Note: If you change the line ending of a form file (<em>psf<\/em>), PowerShell Studio will use the same line ending setting when exporting scripts from the <em>psf<\/em> file.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>PSF File Version Update<\/h3>\n<p>In this service build, the <em>psf <\/em>file was updated to preserve the key names of images in an\u00a0<em>ImageList<\/em> and to resolve serialization issues with the <em>TreeView<\/em> control\u2019s <em>TreeNodes<\/em>, where the <strong>ImageIndex<\/strong> property did not persist in the saved file. Because of these structural changes, the new <em>psf<\/em> version is not backwards compatible with older builds of PowerShell Studio.<\/p>\n<p>When opening an older version <em>psf<\/em> file, PowerShell Studio will display a warning:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sapien.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Backup-Warning.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"Backup Warning\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sapien.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Backup-Warning_thumb.png\" alt=\"Backup Warning\" width=\"644\" height=\"107\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The warning notifies you that the file version will be updated on save. As a precaution, PowerShell Studio will create a backup of the original file before updating to the latest version.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sapien.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Backup-Created.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"background-image: none; padding-top: 0px; padding-left: 0px; display: inline; padding-right: 0px; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"Backup Created\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sapien.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Backup-Created_thumb.png\" alt=\"Backup Created\" width=\"644\" height=\"107\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The backup file will be created in the same directory as the <em>psf<\/em> file using a <em>bak<\/em> extension:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>FileName.psf.bak<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Feedback<\/h2>\n<p>Please continue providing your feedback.
