We want to take a minute to give a HUGE<\/strong> thank you to you, our customers, for your generous and giving hearts during our Alzheimer\u2019s Donation Event. We were able to offer the Alzheimer\u2019s Foundation of America<\/a>\u00a0a wonderful donation in remembrance of our CEO\u2019s father, Ferdinand Rios, who passed from complications due to Alzheimer\u2019s almost 3 years ago.<\/p>\n

AFA was founded in 2002 by Bert E. Brodsky, whose mother lived with Alzheimer\u2019s disease from 1980-1992. At that time, there was little information available and nowhere to turn for support. Mr. Brodsky\u2019s goal was to make sure that no other family living with Alzheimer\u2019s disease would have to go the journey alone.<\/p>\n

Fifteen years later, AFA has grown to a network of more than 2,600-member organizations nationwide that provide direct care and services. To date, AFA has trained more than 13,000 healthcare professionals in dementia-specific care, provided free, confidential memory screenings to nearly 3.5 million people, and provides support, counseling and education to thousands.<\/p>\n
